More than 60 Clay Lacy Aviation line service technicians have completed OEM-authorized ground handling and service training for Gulfstream aircraft, the FBO operator and business aircraft maintenance provider said. Gulfstream Aerospace teamed with FlightSafety International in designing the specialized training to improve dispatch reliability and increase safety.

Sixty-six technicians from Clay Lacy Aviation’s FBOs in Van Nuys and Orange County, California, have completed the courses. The company plans next to start training technicians at its soon-to-open FBO at Waterbury-Oxford Airport in Connecticut.

The program features explanations and demonstrations of best practices for supporting the full range of Gulfstreams. Designed to identify and mitigate risk to people and aircraft on the ramp, the training includes parking, walkarounds, fueling, towing, and snow and ice removal.
